you've almost definitely seen this in bookstores/instagram/best of lists and i'm so happy to report it is WORTH THE HYPE

tl;dr: dysfunctional family in a coastal small town, almost slice of life but with conspiracy and rich people crime? it's weird and heartwarming and i loved it. it reminds me of an adult version of the penderwicks if you read those as a child
